About us

While working as an estate agent Tamzin saw the effect of space planning and decoration on a property's saleability. It was then, in 2002, she began working towards establishing her own business to bring out the potential of any property by way of accessible and affordable interior design advice. While studying Interior Design and Decoration at KLC School of Design, Tamzin worked at several interior design & architecture companies to gain some hands-on experience.

As the Design Assistant at a London commercial interiors company, Tamzin was ultimately made responsible for the visual aspects of large office space projects for an array of clients in the City including law firms, media companies, hedge funds and luxury travel agents. This involved space planning and designing colour schemes before presenting the options on sample boards and CAD drawings.

With years of experience on both commercial and residential renovation projects, Tamzin has developed a well trained eye, extensive supplier knowledge, a list of trusted local tradesmen and is comfortable designing in a variety of styles to suit a varied clientele. Heliotrope Design currently specialises in styling, sourcing and supplying finishes for residential interiors but as and when time allows, will consider larger renovation projects.
